One of the most frequently asked questions I get is "What should I wear?" Picking outfits for the whole family can be a challenge! I'm here to give you styling tips and advice!

Colors: When picking out colors to wear it's a great idea to create contrast between family members by choosing a range of color shades for each person to wear. When a group is photographed close together, members should stand out from each other rather than all blending together. Avoid very bright colors, such as neons, since they can cast/reflect the color onto faces. Instead, choose complementary colors and styles that go well together. This creates a visually appealing and cohesive look for the entire family.

Avoid Busy Patterns and Logos: Large, busy patterns can be distracting in photos. Stick to solid colors or smaller, subtle patterns. Avoid clothing with visible logos, as they can draw attention away from the main focus.

Movement: Wearing flowing dresses or skirts will pick up wind and move with you to create beautiful interest in your images.

Consider the Location: Think about the setting of your photo session. If it's outdoors in a natural environment, earthy tones or pastel colors can work well. For an urban setting, more modern or vibrant colors might be suitable.

Dress for the Season: Select clothing appropriate for the season. Light and airy fabrics for summer and warmer, layered outfits for colder weather.

Comfortable: What's most important is that you wear clothes that you feel comfortable and confident in!

Accessorize: Add accessories like scarves, hats, belts, bows, or jewelry to add interest and style to your outfits.

Grooming: Pay attention to grooming and personal care. Get haircuts, trim nails, and touch up any necessary makeup.

Bring Out Your Personality: Let your outfits reflect your family's personality. Feel free to add a touch of individuality that represents each family member.

Coordinate with Your Home Decor: If you plan to display these photos in your home, consider choosing colors that complement your home's interior design.

Test Outfits in Advance: Try on your chosen outfits ahead of time to make sure they fit well and look great together.

Remember, the most important thing is to feel comfortable and confident in what you wear. When you're relaxed and enjoying the moment, it will show in the photos, creating beautiful and authentic family memories.
